Which workshop was your fav and why?
My favorite workshop was the Lightroom workshop. I was so intimated by the program prior to the retreat and wouldn’t even touch it because I was overwhelmed with all the options. During the workshop, we were provided with enough knowledge and guidance to put editing in action on the spot, and since the retreat I’ve had so much fun playing around with the program more! It’s incredible what the possibilities are, and I think it’s one of the biggest new skills I walked away with.
How has your blog or Instagram grown since the retreat?
My Instagram account has grown 7.5K in the two months since the retreat. I’ve applied a handful of the tips and tricks from the retreat, and I’d say they definitely have led to growth and more engagement!
What was a highlight from your trip?
The highlight of the trip for me was meeting the girls! I followed Tracy, Mel and Kat for almost a year leading up to the retreat, and it was nice to get to know them as people, outside of their beautiful accounts. With all of us girls, we had a solid group of people with an array of backgrounds, skills, goals and stories, and it was amazing to get to know them all!
How did it feel to be surrounded by other likeminded women? How did that motivate you?
It was empowering! It was the first time I had gotten to meet other women who are in the same industry and on the same path as I’m headed, and it was very encouraging. We spent a lot of time talking about ideas for new projects, and it feels great to have a solid girl tribe that I will be able to bounce ideas off of and reach out to for advice in the years to come! They motivated me to pursue a project I’d been putting on hold for years, and now I’m in the beginning stages of turning that into a reality!
Would you recommend the retreat to a friend or someone who is interested in joining us on a retreat?
I would definitely recommend the retreat. It can guarantee it’s an amazing group of women that host the retreat, and not only do they share the ins and outs of building and maintaining your brand, but you walk away with a new portfolio of images, and most importantly, a great group of new friends!
