WITH STEPHANIE CASTELLON
NICARAGUA EDITION – JUNE 2017
Why did you decide to join us on a retreat? What excited you most about the retreat?
I was so excited to go on the trip and really just soak up everything and learn. I wanted to know more about monetizing off of my social media accounts and blog. I also wanted to learn more about branding myself and focusing on my brand image. Lastly I also wanted to network and meet other awesome traveling gals.
What top 3 things did you learn while on the retreat?
I learned a lot about myself and what style of editing and content I really like and wanted to provide for my followers. I feel like in my daily life I never take the time to think about myself or what I want. On the retreat you actually take the time to think about yourself, your life goals, your interests and really connect with other young genuine fun travel gals who motivate you.
How did your life change after the retreat?
I started to pay more attention to detail and everything I learned from the retreat I started applying it into my daily life. I was able to connect more with my audience and have grown a lot since.
Would you recommend the retreat to a friend or someone who is interested in joining us on a retreat?
Defiantly it was such a great experience with so many take aways! I meet an incredible group of girls who have now become my traveling friends. It was also great because a lot of the girls who had an established and dedicated audience were willing to share their tips or tricks that got them to where they are now. It’s a very open retreat with such positive vibes.
What was a highlight from your trip?
A highlight of my trip was overall just having fun and creating content. I’m such a creative being and being in front of the camera is always fun. At the same time I was learning how to shoot better with my own camera.
How has your blog or Instagram grown since the retreat?
It has grown tremendously when I attend the retreat I had 2,000 followers I’m now at almost 4,000 followers I’ve also had much more engagement and have really started to connect with my audience and get to know them little by little through social media.
Did Pangea dreams set you up for success? What skills did you take away from the retreat?
Totally so many social media skills. I learned how to grow my following on Instagram. I learned how to reach out to brand and hotels for collaborations. I learned how to edit my photos according to my style and taste. I also learned to believe in myself and dream big because we all started somewhere!
Which workshop was your fav and why?
The branding and social media growth workshops were my favorite. I learned so much in those workshops and a lot of the questions I’ve always had were answered. What I loved the most is that I was able to ask anything and they girls always had an answer.
Tell us about the photoshoots and content that was created while on the retreat!
It was awesome the places we visited where so photogenic. Everyday was a new location and so much fun! I also loved how the team directed us in certain ways so we look our best!
Outline your fav day from the retreat. What did it consist of? Why was it your fav?
Waking up around 9 am to take a yoga class. After yoga headed upstairs for an all inclusive breakfast. After breakfast check some emails and take part in the first workshop of the day. After the workshop have some yummy lunch at the hotel and then head to our days adventure out to sea. We boarded on a catamaran all day where we shot tons of awesome content. It was so much fun, swimming out in the open water and then sneaking off to an island where we were the only ones. I can still taste that yummy ceviche from the boat Ha-ha. Headed back at night and straight to bed to get some rest
How did it feel to be surrounded by other likeminded women? How did that motivate you?
It was awesome because everyone was so open, positive, willing to learn and give advice. It motivated it me because it made me feel like I can also do it and be successful.
Did the retreat live up to your expectations?
Yes the retreat met my expectation and more I was so bummed to go back home! I learned so much and met the most incredible girls.
