With our two Mexico retreat locations, it’s not a secret that we absolutely love Mexico. If our sold out retreats in Tulum and Puerto Vallarta aren’t proof enough, this blog post will do the trick. There are countless beautiful destinations in Mexico where you can relax under a palm tree, explore Mayan ruins and culture, or feast on local delicacies and cuisine.

We have countless reasons why we keep going back to Mexico for our retreats, and we wanted to share some of them with you!

WHY WE LOVE MEXICO

The ocean & beaches

Surely you can tell why we love hosting retreats in Mexico simply by looking at the photo above, right? Can anything beat that colour?

One of our favourite things about travelling to and hosting our Mexico retreats is the beautiful, clear waters you find off its shores and beaches. From the deep blue to the light turqoise, there is something special and serene about the waters of Mexico you just can’t find elsewhere.

Mexico is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and they are reason enough to want to visit. The beautiful white sand beaches of Mexico can be found all along the coastline and the country’s magical scenery. Playa del Amor outside Puerto Vallarta, also known as Hidden Beach, and Playa Paraiso in Tulum have actually been named two of the top 50 beaches in the world!

The people & hospitality

Every time we travel to Mexico, whether that’s Tulum on the Riviera Maya or Puerto Vallarta on the East Coast, we meet kind and helpful people who are willing to share their culture with us. Because of its friendly and open people, Mexico holds a special place in our hearts. There is no better way to get to know a place than to get to know the locals, and this is always easy on our Mexico retreats!

Meeting people who treat you like family the minute you meet makes you realise what a special culture you are experiencing, and will make you want to go back to Mexico time and time again.

The history

Mexico’s history dates back thousands of years, and continues to fascinate us every day. Getting to explore the heritage of the Mayans and the Aztecs, walking around the ruins of Tulum or learning about the history of Puerto Vallarta (it was a thriving village for centuries before tourists started to arrive) are some of our favourite ways to discover more about the history of the country.

Mexico has comprised many major civilizations throughout the centuries, that have all left their unique marks on the culture. The famous Chichen Itza is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, and across the Yucatán Peninsula you can visit villages where the indigenous Maya people share their cultural history.

The food

How can we write a list of why we love Mexico without mentioning the food? Across the world people love tacos, nachos and all kinds of Mexican food, but there is no better place to enjoy it than at its origin. Did you know that traditional Mexican cuisine actually has been deemed a cultural treasure by UNESCO. We aren’t the only ones that love it!

The Instagrammable spots

There are countless spots in Mexico where you can get the perfect shot to share on the ‘Gram, and that’s one of the reasons we always have such a blast on our retreats there! When professional photographers and seasoned influencers get together, you know you’re gonna get the shot – but when you add beautiful locations and super fun spots to shoot in, you’ve hit the jackpot! Our photos from our Mexico retreats are always full of life and colour!

As you can tell, we have our reasons for going back to Mexico for our retreats, and we’ve loved sharing them! Our retreats in Mexico bring together women to explore the vast history and culture of the country, learn from experts in the influencer and photography industry, and connect with likeminded women from all across the world!
